NHRA Pro Bike Battle to Resume in Indianapolis

Mickey Thompson-sponsored special event will be held at the Denso Spark Plug U.S. Nationals in September.
STOW, OHIO – Always one of the standout special events of the NHRA season, the Mickey Thompson Tires Pro Bike Battle will return on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis at the Denso Spark Plugs U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

The special event, which annually pits eight of the top NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle riders in head-to-head shootout for a $25,000 winner payout, was originally scheduled to take place at its traditional site at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals in July, but was moved after that event was cancelled due to COVID-19 and other factors.

"It’s great to get back to racing, and moving the Pro Bike Battle to Indy is a terrific way to showcase our tires in the home of motorsports," said Ken Warner, Vice President of Marketing for Mickey Thompson. "The excitement of the Pro Bike Battle is Pro Stock Motorcycle racing at its best, which is why Mickey Thompson has been proud to sponsor the event for four years now."

Riders earn points for the Mickey Thompson Tires Pro Bike Battle during qualifying at NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events over the course of a calendar year. The eight riders accumulating the most qualifying points leading up to the U.S. Nationals will earn a spot in the Mickey Thompson Tires Pro Bike Battle.
